Obstacles of the Entrepreneurial Mind
Recognize Any of These Mental Gremlins?
Perfectionism
High standards and the drive to do everything extremely well might sound good, but do you ever get the feeling that the desire to be perfect is actually preventing your progress?
Uncertainty
Wondering if you’re making the right decision? Not sure of which path to walk? Uncertainty doesn’t just cost you time, it costs you energy.
People Pleasing
Ever have trouble telling people no, or that it’s not a good fit? Do you sometimes secretly wish that you could just put yourself first and stop managing other people’s emotions?
Fierce Independence
There’s something seductive about the idea of doing it all on your own, unencumbered by anyone else’s help or opinion. But the truth is, there’s no way one person can do everything by themselves and do it well. Learning to ask for help, trust your team, and build a supportive network is key to taking your business (and your life) to the next level.
Comparison
When you’re constantly comparing yourself to other entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get caught up in a cycle of envy and self-doubt. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness, which can hold you back from taking risks and achieving your full potential.
The Entrepreneurial Time Trap
In the beginning, running your own business is so exciting. Maybe you start drumming up sales, and you start getting good feedback from the market. Then things get busier and you start to get really excited about the potential of your business.
Then after a couple of years, you might start to feel those mental gremlins creep in. The cocktail is different for all of us, but some of the more common ones we see early-stage business owners dealing with are perfectionism, overwhelm, imposter syndrome, uncertainty, comparison, fierce independence, and people-pleasing.
Pretty soon you feel less free and less in control than ever before. Sometimes the gremlins get so bad that you start to worry that the business might collapse at any moment.
We help early-stage business owners like you to manage their minds and take strategic action so that they can experience more freedom in their businesses and lives.
Most entrepreneurs reach a point in the early stage of their business where they start to lose the spark or recognize that their business isn’t bringing them the freedom and control over their life that they thought it would. If this sounds like your situation, I’d like to share that while it might not feel great, it is totally normal. It happens to a lot of us, you didn’t do anything wrong, and best of all there is a way out!
You want a business that not only supports you in living the life you love, but one that feels authentic, valuable, and meaningful. You want a team that loves their work and is proactive about delivering value to the customers. Most importantly, you want a life outside your business, where you are free to connect, adventure, and play in whatever way feels most alive in you.
Welcome to Lucid Shift Coaching. We help early-stage business owners like you to manage their minds and take strategic action so that they can experience more freedom in their businesses and lives.
The most common mental gremlins we see early-stage business owners dealing with are perfectionism, overwhelm, imposter syndrome, uncertainty, comparison, fierce independence, and people-pleasing.
A lot of the time when we start talking to business owners, they think that they are missing some key ingredient. That there is some formula for delegation, some technique for productivity, or some key to being an authentic leader and successful business owner.
The truth is that you’re not missing anything. There’s no magic formula or secret ingredient to building a business and a life that you love (though you can find a ton of people selling those if you’re interested).
In fact, the only thing that you need in order to guarantee your success is to keep authentically trying at it until you eventually get there. Don’t get me wrong, there are strategies that can help you get there faster, but think about it: All the strategies in the world won’t help unless you put them into practice.
That means that it all really comes down to your mindset: keeping yourself going no matter what. If you can do that, everything else will take care of itself.
There’s no magic formula or secret ingredient to building a business and a life that you love
That’s why we built Lucid Shift Coaching. To help business owners like you to out-think your limitations, take consistent action, and realize what’s possible.

Tap into Your Authentic Power
Lead Your Most Genuine Life
We all start off trusting in ourselves. From the moment we’re born, we never doubt our ability to do anything, no matter how clumsy we are at first. Walking, talking, and reading are incredibly complex skills, yet we fumble and fail our way through learning them without ever doubting that we can. Then at some point in our young lives (I’m looking at you, middle school), we start to doubt ourselves, looking around to see if we are doing it “right”.
The Authentic Leadership Program, our signature coaching program, is about systematically investigating your core operating system. It’s about remembering your sense of trust in yourself and leading your life and your business from your center. You have an innate ability to learn and grow into the business owner you want to be. It’s inalienable. Together we’ll investigate your values, strengths, tendencies, stories, and struggles so that you can tap into your authentic power and experience business badassery.
Freedom
Imagine a business that not only supports you in living the life you love, but one that feels authentic, valuable, and important. It might mean delegating to team members, streamlining your processes, or automating key parts of your business. Whatever form it takes, creating freedom in your business is essential for a sustainable, authentic life.
Confidence
Imagine for a moment that you were absolutely certain of your abilities. That you walk into every room with your head held high, radiating certainty. Think of the doors that would open for you. The opportunities that would come your way. The people you would meet. Confidence is more than just a state of mind – it’s a powerful skill to develop. Ready to practice?
Resourcefulness
What would you do with all the time, money, skills, and materials you need to accomplish your goals? When you’re resourceful, you are creative and adaptable, and you are on the lookout for new ways to do things. Resourcefulness is a quality that can be learned and developed for your business.
"I've restored my confidence in myself and my business."
LIndsey A, New York
“Six months after starting with Lucid Shift Coaching, I have found clarity on what I actually want to do with my career and what direction I want to take. I’ve restored my confidence in myself and my business. The revenue of my business grew 700%. I have increased my client list to full capacity and now have a waitlist for full-package consulting. I’m getting ready to onboard new team members and launch my ACADEMY, a dream of mine that was on hold because of (you guessed it…) fear. I’ve prioritized REST and stopped taking meetings on Friday’s while increasing my productivity!”
